"Glee's" Jane Lynch paid tribute to her recently passed co-star Cory Monteith at Sunday's Emmy awards.  She spoke about the young actor, who died unexpectedly in July from a toxic mix of alcohol and heroin.

Lynch started by speaking about the "star-quality" and "genuine sweetness" she noticed in Cory when they first met.  She called him "a beautiful soul," and remembered how millions "fell in love" with him on screen and off.  Lynch said Cory was "not perfect," adding that imperfection is something "many of us here tonight can relate to."

She also had something to something to say to Cory's young fanbase.  Lynch reminded them that "this gifted and talented young man" was "worthy" of their love, and promised they would have "loved him even more" if they were lucky enough to know him personally.

Jane's tribute to Cory at the Emmys was the subject of some controversy before the show, after the son of the late Jack Klugman complained about his father being ignored in the individual tribute segments.  The late James Gandolfini, Jean Stapleton, Jonathan Winters and Gary David Goldberg all received individual tributes as well.
