The search for the missing Malaysian Airlines flight has extended to the Indian Ocean. This is the opposite direction from the plane’s original flight route. The change is because Malaysian officials heard “pings” several hours after the flight’s last transponder signal, heading toward the Indian Ocean. They believe those pings belonged to the missing flight.

The death toll in the explosion in East Harlem is up to eight. Rescue workers were 40-50% through the debris as of last night. Officials believe the explosion was caused by a gas leak, and the NTSB is looking into the gas company Con Edison’s handling of customer complaints before the explosion happened. Moving to Austin, we now know the identities of the two people killed in that drunk driving crash at South by Southwest: 27-year-old Jamie West, from Austin, and 35-year-old Steven Craenmehr, of the Netherlands. The 21-year-old driver will be charged with two counts of capital murder and 23 counts of aggravated assault with a vehicle.

And a group of five frat brothers broke into the Houston SeaWorld at 2am on Wednesday to take selfies with the animals. They also had the  munchies, so they broke into a storage area and stole Dippin’ Dots. The security guard found them, three got away, two are charged with theft and criminal trespassing. The animals are okay.
