There were two polls released on Thursday that showed former Governor Eliot Spitzer in the lead in the city comptroller race. However, Spitzer's lead over Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer varies in the two polls according to AM New York.
In a Wall Street Journal-NBC 4 New York-Marist poll Spitzer was well ahead of Stringer at 49 to 32 percent among registered Democrats. Meanwhile, in a Quinnipiac University poll conducted between July 18-23, Spitzer led just 49 to 45 percent.
