There is a new contender entering the race for New York City mayor, but to much less fanfare than that some of his fellow candidates. Millionaire tech businessman Jack Hidary announced Wednesday he would be running for mayor, according to the New York Daily News.
The 45-year-old Brooklyn native who made his fortune creating the job search website Dice.com will be running as an independent. According to Businessweek, Hidary wants to bring more tech companies to NYC and help New Yorkers start small businesses. “My background as a successful entrepreneur and my years in public service and economic development uniquely qualify me for the office of mayor of New York City,” Hidary said.
